Resolved Question: Why is Chase Financial Mortgage giving me the run around !!!!?
I am a local contractor. I reached agreement with a homeowners insurance company to replace there damaged roof. The insurance adjuster confirmed our agreement, gave full approval of the roof and sent the check.
The check came in the name of the homeowner, chase financial mortgage, and my company.
The homeowner signed the check, and sent it to chase. After waiting a week we contacted chase. they stated i needed to send in some forms, so i did. Waited another week with no response. Contacted them again, evidently the forms I sent in were not acceptable because they did not contain chase’s letterhead. So I downloaded THERE forms from the internet and complied. That was 2 months ago. Now when I call they can give me no information because I am not the homeowner. They keep telling the homeowner the check is in processing. this has been going on now for 3 months. The job was completed in Feb. Now we are in the middle of May.
In the meantime, I have completed another job for a larger amount that also had to be approved by chase. No extra paperwork was needed, check came back signed in 3 days……no problems.
Why can’t I get paid !!! The check has my companies name on it, so I know it hasn’t been cashed.
I walked into this blind, and now I am out 6k in materials and labor until I get this stupid check. And they wonder why small business have a hard time! Its because all of the big business BS.

Resolved Question: What is my liability for a friend who was injured on my property.?
A friend was doing a favor checking something out on my roof while I was away. He fell off the ladder and was injured.(I found out he had been drinking) I called the ambulance and he was hospitalized for a few weeks with broken ribs, surgeries etc. He does not have any health insurance and no monetary assets. He spoke with medical assistance (in PA) regarding his medical bills and they want me to sign a form regarding my homeowners insurance.
I am concerned wether the hospital or state medical assistance would try to go after me for his medical bills.(probably an astronomical figure) My homeowners insurance policy (Erie) says $100,000 personal liability for medical each occurance. His bills may be way more than that.
I didn’t file any insurance claim or contact my homeowners ins. about this (happened about a month ago). What should I do. I know my friend would not try to sue me but what about the hospital or medical assistance.? Thanks for any information.

Resolved Question: Who pays for damage to truck after tree branch falls on it?
We have our own home with our own home insurance policy. About 2 weeks ago we had high winds and rain and several large branches fell on and around my truck, which is parked in our driveway. I keep a truck cover on it, as I only drive it every 1-2 weeks. Anyways, I ran some errands today and noticed a large dent near the roof and know it’s from the tree branches b/c my truck cover has 4-6 tears in it from the branches. Is this something my homeowner’s insurance policy pays? If so, would I have to pay my deductible. The dent is real obvious, about baseball sized but did not take any paint off. Our deductible is $1k so if that’s the case, I’d probably just pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I still owe 36 payments on it and it’s 5 years old with only 34k miles.

Martin I was wrong in thinking that we didn’t have any major damage from the hail storm. We just had an insurance adjuster visit and there’s a lot of work getting put in to fix stuff it broke to include our roof. If your house was hit by the hail storm, do youself a favor if you haven’t already and call your homeowners insurance for an adjuster to visit. For us, it was worse than I thought.
